Yoga Postures

Why are we doing yoga? Many people are attracted to yoga for the physical posture work. These postures build strength, flexibility and stamina. They can help you lose weight and increase your muscle tone - give you back your waist and tighten your bum!

The postures of yoga have been developed over 2,500 years to work on every system in the body: cardiovascular, immune, endocrine, nervous, circulatory systems. Yoga postures release tension and blocks in the body. Emotional stress is usually held in the body and felt as tension or pain in the muscles. This tension builds up over time and causes blockages and dis-ease. The postures of yoga release this. And by working deep into the myofascial network of the body, yoga releases knots, blocks and tensions and opens us up to a freedom of being.
