The Spine

When we wake in the morning we naturally feel like stretching because the spine is beginning to extend, releasing the nerves as they become alive. The nerves get tremendous benefit from the elongation of the spine, the more extensive the lengthening, the deeper the impact and the release of the nerves.

Everything in your body (movement, function, sensation) is controlled by your brain. Wires called nerves unite and interconnect the brain to every part of the body. These nerves carry information from the brain to the body. When you want to lift your arm, your brain sends messages along the nerves to the muscles of your arm ordering them to act."

The spinal cord, protected by the vertebral column, is a very important passage and distributing station. It connects nervous energy from the central nervous system (brain) with the peripheral nervous system (nerves).

31 pairs of spinal nerves branch from the spinal cord, and cross through reaching the peripheral parts of your body (arms, hands, legs etc). There is not a nerve in your body that is not somehow dependent on the integral functioning of the spinal cord and consequently on the vertebral column.

This is why it is so important to focus on elongation of the spine, especially the waist area.
This lumbar area (waist vertebrae) suffers most when standing wrongly. The lumbar vertebrae that become misaligned are crushed together by tension.

These compressed vertebrae pinch the nerves that pass through the corresponding vertebral cavity, causing pain and muscular spasm.

We have to create the proper space between the vertebrae so that the nerves can be released and health re-established .
